    this is my DIY TYMAR. i used a big truck muffler bracket to hold the filter from bouncing around. i think most people just set it on the inner fender and let it ride.

    that is awesome info, and by your sig 847HP is a damn good start and really close to the 1000 mark, especially on a stock cam. do you have issues with the headers such as cracking or gasket leaks?

    DYNO'D IT TODAY! i havent had a chance to install the 6.0 cooler yet, but i think im right where i wanted to be wich is 300hp. without the cooler installed, my numbers were 275 hp and 615 ft/lbs at about 2500rpms.

    bama, check it for codes. even though the light isnt on, you may have a temp sensor fault that could steer you in the right direction. how is it idling, smooth or rough? i wonder if you have an injector that is firing inconsistently, possibly coming on harder at times causing the rev up.

    pulling the engine isnt that bad, welding would be a bigger PITA, especially when you start finding leaks!

    if you are going to "goop it" if he needs the truck or doesnt have money, drain the oil, snadblast the leaky rot spots, and skim coat it with jb weld. its a temporary fix that will last forever.
