    i bet its running on one bank. idm, injector, harness could be shorted. start it up, and unplug the 4 valve cover harness connectors one at a time, see if you have some dead ones.

    the shake you had sounds like the death wobble. it is easily fixed, caused by loose steering joints, ball joints, suspension.....it should be easy for a mechanic to find the cause of a death wobble. sensitive sensor is sounding better and better for the dying engine issue. wich one....?:dunno

    damnit! in case you cant get it worked out with the parts guys, you can take the caliper off (leave the brake line connected), put a block of wood in it to keep the pistons in, and aim the bleeder up and bleed it.

    sounds like you could have a failed guage, or a wiring issue. the truck was still running fine wich makes me believe the engine harness and sensors are all ok, i bet its an in-cab problem. you need to get your hands on some wiring diags for the truck and see where the signal wire(s) are and get...

    you are feeling a stiff pedal with engine off because you have no power boost. once the engine is running the power assist is giving you a soft pedal. have you tried a power bleeder?

    check the wheel bearings, a wheel might be leaning and opening up the caliper, and it would give you a soft pedal. are you pumping the pedal several times to get full pressure before bleeding it off? sometimes one stroke of the pedal isnt enough to effectively get all of the air out.

    the tranny was designed for a truck with heavy towing in mind, dont worry about hurting anything in OD. i have 3.55 and if i didnt let it into overdrive the engine would be screaming and SUCKING DOWN the fuel! i couldnt imagine what it would be like with a lower gear ratio.....it will pull fine...

    ya, it will start just before the batteries are dead. no special procedure other than crank the crap out of it. give the starter a cool down rest every 10 seconds like 97 said.

    +1..............when you get into the realm of insane 1000hp type performance the ridiculous smoke is expected. personally i am more impressed with the diesels that can pump in large amounts of fuel and burn ALL of it...COMPLETELY. anything more than a slight haze and its wasted potential power...

    i have heard clutches make noises. the hub/springs start to fall apart on the friction plate and dance around when its engaged. a bad input shaft bearing, or countershaft scoring, would make more of a whining grinding noise. (usually)

    some of our site sponsors carry hpop pressure guages, the pressure is in the thousands so you really dont want to rig something, a leak could shoot right through your flesh (gross!)

    raptors handle about as good as a lawn mower. good dune quads, lots of power to chug through the sand. if you really want to have some fun id say go for it on the EX.....if it really cant spool it you may be able to fill weld the exhaust housing to increase the velocity in there. worst case...
