Need Help/Advice: Firestone Dual Air Command II

I have not done this or remember where pictures are, but I remember some people would but the battery box for RVs and mount the compressor inside the box and then mount the box to the frame. When I ever get around to purchasing a tank and compressor, this is probably what I will be doing...

    Part number for transmission

I'm looking for the part number for the trans cooler bypass valve. I don't think mine is bad, but with 145,000 miles and I am finally going to install a tru-cool cooler, I wanted to replace just because. Also, what is the best way to clean the factory cooler? I was planing to remove, spray...

    COOLANT LEAK

I did my water pump last year. If you do automotive work, it is not to bad. Hardest part for me was removing the fan clutch, with the tools. Advanced Auto has a nice set for loan that has the wrench we need. Took about 4 to 5 hours for me, took my time. I used the same instructions listed...

    Cooling system refresh?

Since I do not know how they did the X, if the upper hose you have now goes through the fan belt, get the hose for a dual alt truck. They go around the belt.

    Donaldson air intake systems

I had the Donaldson filter on my homemade tymar intake, but then switched to the Amsoil EAAU4090 fitler. Why, for looks, if it made a difference, not sure, but it has an inverted intake at the top witch ends up at the fender well opening. Just another option since you are going Amsoil.

Oil filter change interval(with Oil Bypass)

I have the Amsoil ByPass system. I was changing the full flow filter twice a year, and the bypass once a year. With the new media and good analysis, I may change the full flow once and the bypass every other. If they say that is OK, may try longer.

    Re. Synthetic oils for transmission

I did this all last year. I bought a new filter. DO NOT use the gasket that come with it. The one on the truck is re-usable. I also bought Amsoil Torque Drive ATF. It is, or was, at that time, Mercon rated, not dual rated. My temps lowered by 10* just with the fluid change. I have...

    engine oil analysis

Agreed. But some of us, me included, run synthetic and an oil bypass system. I do the analysis to see how my oil is holding up. I've had the same oil for two years now. Just add new to top off the filter and that is it.

    door panel removel? how??

If it is like the 99, there are some screws too. Remove the trim piece front of door, covering the mirror holes. Pry up the switch cover and unplug. I think in here is where there is a screw or two. Other wise lift up on the door panel. Unplug light at bottom of door and set panel aside...

    Power Steering Leak

I have had a small leak around the steering gear for the past few years. Last year, I put in the Lucus Stop leak, but it didn't stop it completely, but did make the drops smaller. Then over the summer and leak was gone. Now that it is cold again, it is back. Could this be the hoses...

    04 headlight upgrade on 99

Hello all. First thanks again to Bama for the deal on his 04 headlights. Anyone that did this swap before, where can I get the different mounting "tab" that I need? Ford changed the design from 99 to 04 so mine doesn't fit. Will check dealer tomorrow, but wanted to know if anything...
