    I don't really think there is an expiration date on them - after 170K i would expect to replace something on it as with any high mileage vehicle, but longetivity really depends on the way it was taken care of and driven.     Takes 2hrs to remove cab, 1 if u know what ur doing - Their billing sucks is all. I too strongly believe that without Cummins, Dodge would be out of business - Chevy couldn't built an auto tranny to hold up thats why they use an Allison or so they say, I think its just a rebadged 4L80.

    Don't buy a dodge - half ass built ****house - The reason the cummins swap is recomended is because of its simplicity, there isn't much electrical (old 12V motor) and u can buy just about whatever u need from DeStroked. I wouldn't worry about getting a lemon if u do ur homework before u buy...

    I've heard from a few people that the V-8 configuration make a better DD than the 6 for the reasons you stated. I guess when u look at it the Powerstroke and the Duramax are both V-8's and Dodge is the only one that uses the I-6.

    I agree with that because i use my truck as a daily driver and i love it and it does tow good plus i get 14mpg city and 17 highway - loades i get around 12.5-13mpg. If he does tow alot then the Cummins would be the good choice for the low end grunt. I personally love my 6.0 and wouldn't trade it...

    If ur gonna run a tuner i would go with an SCT with Custom tunes - Its also controls your tranny too. BullyDogs are junk, my uncle had one in his 04 and sometimes the truck wouldn't start, unplug it and the truck would fire right up.
