I had thought of that also. Years ago I had a 1/2 4x4 with a Western Proplow on it. It was so heavy, my truck did a 360 on me one day in an intersection when I tried to go around a corner. By the end of the day, I had 16 concrete blocks in the back for weight/traction. Do they come any other...

As I stated in a previous thread, my days with Superduty in the driveway are numbered. Because of the fact I strongly feel the recent Superduties are so unattractive stylewise, I'll be getting something else. For reasons of having a GM employee discount program through work, I am zero-ing...

Days as a Powerstroke owner are numbered.

I haven't given it any thought yet. I'm still months away from being ready to switch vehicles. I want to make the house refinance a done deal before I make any moves on the truck front. I don't like trying to juggle too many things at once. Heck I still don't even have my library of...

Days as a Powerstroke owner are numbered.

It's been unseasonably warm all week. If the weather holds, Mrs TG on Monday wants to take the boat out for one last cruise on a large area in-land lake (i.e. not Lake Superior) and enjoy the fall colors. But I'm sure the :skate and :snowb is not too far off. BTW: A couple of...

Days as a Powerstroke owner are numbered.

I think what I don't like the most about the interior is the loud & bold look. It looks just doesn't have the smooth, quiet and "flowing" look that I like. The outside (front end) doesn't look horrible to me, just not attractive. Too bad one can't get a "new" 7.3 Superduty with "zero"...

Days as a Powerstroke owner are numbered.

I went to the credit union yesterday to start the ball rolling on refinancing the house and doing a debt consolidation. I was very surprised how much we'll be gaining. Between the house payment, home equity loan and 8.5% student loans for our daughter, we were paying a total about $1600 a...

Maiden Voyage with the travel trailer this weekend

I have in the past rode snowmobiles here on 15 Oct!!:tounge:tounge FWIW: When my camper goes into storage is pretty much decided by the county fair board. I store it at the county fair grounds in one of their big livestock pole barns. Another factor is that our favorite state park closes...

    Power mirrors are dead

Don't be surprised if a new switch don't fix the problem. I was 1000% sure my problem was a bad switch. It wasn't.:doh:

    Still White Smoke?

Is there any oil in the tail pipe? You might have a bad shaft seal in the turbo which is blowing oil out the turbine housing and out the exhaust. I've been there: My White Smoke Experience.

    Power mirrors are dead

FIXED IT (sort of) After looking at things a second time, I determined that my problem was a lack of power. (What I thought was a power lead, was just the 12v for the switch illumination.) The mirrors are supposed to receive power from a delay relay that continues power to the mirrors (&...

    Just buried my best friend

It saddens me to know someone is experiencing the loss and grief that I once faced myself, and will inevitably someday face a second time. My best friend at this moment is snuggling with me in my recliner. She is laying on the footstool between my legs, happy knowing her daddy is home from...

    Power mirrors are dead

The new switch didn't fix the problem.:rant:rant:rant:rant:rant Every fuse I can find in the truck is good. So much for the easy fixes. Back to the wiring diagram. I hate those things, they make me go cross-eyed!!:dizzy:dizzy:dizzy

    Driveline Hum with VIDEO!!

1 vote for rear end gears. A few years back I had a noise like you're describing. I suspected rear end noise and had the shop check it out. Sure enough, the gears were worn. (Might have had something to do with 250K+ of towing a 8,000lbs trailer.) New ring + pinion gears= No more noise.

    Power mirrors are dead

It was fully seated. All you have to do to get the switch out is pop the trim panel up, not remove the entire door panel. The switches for the mirrors, windows & door locks are mounted to it. Pop up the front end and the entire mess lifts up. When my new switch arrives, it'll take all but 2...

    Power mirrors are dead

I jumpered the pins on the connector plug after figuring which wires did what. (the actual wire colors were not in 100% with the colors on the wiring diagram) I got the left mirror to move vertically and horizontally. Looking more & more like a bad switch.

    Power mirrors are dead

I didn't check for power coming out of the switch. I figured getting 12v to the switch was a priority item to check for. The chances of all the servos going bad on both mirrors at the same time is nil. That's why I too was leaning towards a bad switch as the cause. The ground wire checked...

    Power mirrors are dead

My power mirrors have decided they would rather be non-powered mirrors. After checking a few things, I have determined the following: Both mirrors are dead The fuse is good The power is getting to the switch The wire from the switch to ground is good At this point I'm thinking the...
