    lost Dad yesterday

Sorry to hear of the loss of your father John. Both me & Mrs TG worked last night and I just got up. We're leaving shortly for my father-in-law's funeral. He passed Sunday evening. He lived to be, as he put it, "ninety damned four" years. He went to be with his love who passed away last April.

    New Glow Plug Relay

Don't remember exactly since it was last winter. But if you do a Google search for a White-Rodgers/Stancor 586-902 contactor/relay it'll show several results of different places and their prices. Don't forget about E-Bay.

    My baby is gone.

After looking at the new Superdutys, I found the interior/dash too unattractive to stand the prospect of having to look at it every day for the next dozen years or so. Ford's big, bad & bold interior design just made me cringe plain & simple. The GM interior on the hand struck me as being more...

Sad day for me. I never thought I'd get so attached to a truck. :(

    Question steering problems

Is the steering feeling like it's actually sticking or does the truck feel like it just wants to wander somewhat from side to side? A worn steering box with excess play would make the truck want to wander. If it has flat spotted ball beaing races, it'd would likely feel like it is sticking...

Wanting to buy a (stick) welder but have no clue what size I need

X2 The summer between my 2 years of aircraft maintainance school, I took a basic welding class. I've done some stick welding before but wanted to get some exposure to other types. Compared to a stick welder, wire feed is so easy. If it were any easier the machine would do the welding all...

2002 SD XLT getting hard to start

Not to sound like I'm hijacking the thread, but what are you having trouble with? Transfer case operation or front lockout hubs not engaging / disengaging?

I installed one about a year ago. The difference in starting was very noticeable. :sweet

    Stupid Question

The early 99's had a cat. But the 99.5's and on did not.:dunno Since you indicate that your truck is a late build or 99.5, you have nothing to worry about. Even if it were an early 99, unless an emissions inspector is savy to know that info and know how to tell the difference on a truck that...

    Trans problems at 175000 miles

With that sort of miles on a tranny, it's dead. In fact, it's lived longer than many stock 4R100 transmissions. Contact Brian's Truck Shop. Their reputation, work, product and warranty are the best around.

Visit to see my little buddy.

I filled the tank on the way down on Saturday (strictly highway driving) and made a couple of trips into Marshfield (city/highway driving) while at my daughters. I hand calculated 19.5 mpg. The LIE-O-METER said 19.2. During this trip I got my running boards put on and a LEER truck cap. I'll...

Visit to see my little buddy.

:D:D I read him a story about a nice man with a diesel pickup who wanted it to tow better and get better fuel economy and the evil EPA man who wouldn't let him do it.:lmao:lmao

Visit to see my little buddy.

Just got back form a couple days visiting our daughter and grandson. It was a dual purpose trip since I got a Leer truck cap installed on my new GMC on the way home. I got to spend some quality time with my grandson. I even read him a story before he went to bed: :D:lmao

We got our 1st CRJ-700 at work.

Something that I noticed was that removing the seats was more of a PITA on the CRJ's than the Embraers. The locking wheel on the front mounts is recessed. The seat track is surrounded by higher carpeting and/or cabin wall panels. So the front mount locking wheels are in effect in a slot or...

True, I can actually stand up in the cabin of the CRJ. The cabin of the Embraers is about 2" shorter than I am.

We got our 1st CRJ-700 at work.

We're doing a heavy maintenance check of the aircraft. Every aircraft that flies is required to have an annual inspection by FAA rules. Most airlines maintain their aircraft according to individual maintenance schedules approved by the FAA. As part of that maintenance program, the CRJ-700...

We got our 1st CRJ-700 at work.

For several months now, we've been told that we would begin working on an additional type of aircraft in addition to the Embraer 135, 140, and 145 we had been working on. A couple of nights ago we got our first CRJ-700. This is me and the crew I'm on. We took the pic to commemorate us...

    It's In The Driveway!!

The deal on the new truck has kept me pretty occupied the last few days. I'm just now starting to get into the "sell the old one" mind set. I just put together a notice to post at work. But I am ready & willing to entertain offers. Send me a PM if anyone is curious or interested.
