From what I can gather, this pic was taken at sunset from eastern Wisconsin along the Lake Michigan shoreline.

    Truck for my girlfriend

The early V-10's had the same problem from what I hear. There is a "kit" for putting spark plug heli-coils in the aluminum heads "on the engine". It isn't cheap though. FWIU, there is a different spark plug too that is the same except it has another thread or two grip range than an OEM...

Question 7.3 PSD(4 in. Down Pipe Install and Performance Gain

Unless you have some other mods like a chip, you likely will not see any difference with a 4" downpipe vs the stock 3 1/2". The stock one is sufficient for stock, unmodded motors. But if you start doing things to the motor like tuning, intake injectors or bugger HPOP, the 3 1/2" pipe...

Question 2000 7.3 fuel system issue

The only thing I can think of is maybe somehow your getting air into the fuel system and relieving the pressure lets the air out?? :dunno I don't know, it's a stab in the dark. on edit: I think I'd take the top off the fuel filter housing and look for anything that may be floating around in...

    Water well pump died!!

Ours lasted almost exactly 20 years also. I'd never replaced a well pump before, so I had no clue about what all was involved other than buying a new pump and getting the shovel out of the garage. It took the 2 guys that came about 5.5 hours to do the job according to the bill. I figured it...

    Water well pump died!!

Things went better than expected. I called a local plumbing and mechanical place only about a mile from the houseabout 7:50 just before my class @ work started. The gal I talked to said they couldn't come until this afternoon. I called Mrs TG about 10:00 to tell her that they'd be coming this...

    rant Oh g*d d**m it

Have you tried looking up the part number on E-Bay? I've saved some significant $$$ on the same part off E-Bay vs the dealer.

Check the slide pins that the caliper bolt to while you're in there. I had mine sieze twice, once on the front, once on the rear, causing some ugly things. After that every time I did anything around the brakes, I checked the slide pins were lubed and freely moving. Expensive lessons...

Biggest Fuel killer for a RV lets list it.

I have heard that this stuff does wonders on oxidized gelcoat: Several people have told me it works just awesome. My camper's finish is in need of some attention. I've never tried the stuff, but plan on it when the camper comes out of storage in about a month.

Biggest Fuel killer for a RV lets list it.

Alot of vehicles have front air dams that divert air from going under a vehicle to around the sides. An OEM or aftermarket air dam may help. Many campers in recent years have used a flexible material to enclose the underbelly of the camper. That material covers all the tanks and framework...

You're pretty limited as far as reducing weight. You can't go camping with your water tank empty or without the fridge stocked with food. I don't think there is a lot you can do as far as wind resistance, but some folks claim THESE things help some. One thing to keep in mind though...

Fuel line on tank - removal

IIRC, when I did my "Hutch" mod and dropped the tank, I just used my pneumatic cutoff wheel and carefully cut the plastic connectors until they were weak enough where I could just crack and split them in half with an expanding split ring pliers. I just used rubber fuel line on the fittings with...

BTS vs. ATS vs. Reputable Local Builder

I think I gotta say :bs. I don't doubt his confidence in providing a quality product, but I doubt he is fully aware of and understands what goes into a BTS transmission. Brian spent a lot of time pulling out and fixing 4R100 transmissions that were being broke by a 1000hp Cummins in a F-350...

    "Stealerships"

For my next truck project, yesterday I went to a local Chevy and picked up an electrical plug. There is a junction box under the dash where hot battery, switched power and retained power is available. With the correct plug, you can plug right into the junction box to get the power needed. No...

    Question Emissions for California

The early 99 I used to own, had a cat originally. There was not any sticker under the hood where emmissions stickers typically are located, that said anything about having/requiring a cat. With the mid-model year revisions commonly reffered to as 99.5 trucks, the cat was discontinued. :dunno...
