X2 on the fuse. The fuse should should be in the power box under the hood. There are separate fuses for: Left Brake/turn signal light Right Brake/turn signal light Tail/marker lights 12v power feed (commonly used for battery charging on campers) Brake control power Back-up lights on...

my truck 99f350 (surging) erratic idle

There isn't any sock on these beasty's. The pick-up is sort of a funnel shaped pickup snout with a screen across the opening. The big problem with the 7.3 trucks has been with the fuel pick-up and mixer assembly inside the tank sucking air. The pickup was poorly designed and built even...

On being a Papa ( Granddad)

:lmao:lmao 2 months ago, I didn't know the words for the Sponge Bob Square Pants song!!:tounge:tounge I don't know why, but for some reason, I bought the Toy Story dvd yesterday. I think as soon as he's done with breakfast, somebody's gonna be snuggling with grandpa watching it. I...

Rebuild my 4R100 or switch to a 6spd?

A real PITA, you pretty much would need a donor truck with a tranny, transfer case, drive shafts (maybe), bell housing, clutch, clutch fork & mechanism, clutch pedal & master cyl, PCM and a vehicle harness for a manual tranny truck. All that and likely more as well as a taller floor pan in the...

    99 F250 exhaust removal

I'll second the saw zall. Only thing faster is a torch. FWIW, you'll have to unbolt the down pipe from the turbo. No sawzalls or torches allowed there.:eek: Then you might have to cut the downpipe in two to get it out.

    starting issues

I think that should be OK. IIRC, the outlet that goes to the HPOP is in the bottom of the reservoir. So as long as there is oil there, the HPOP should have enough to start the truck. But if you want to make sure, you can always top it off in the morning before that first start and see if it...

    Power steering spline count

Because of the mounting bracket for the track bar, I found you can't just drop the control arm from the steering box to count splines. The only way of doing it is to remove the steering box first, and then remove the control arm to count splines. I sort of went down that road a few months...

No rear lights, need wiring diagram

Look at the fuse block under the hood. The fuses and relays for towing trailers are not installed at the factory. The factory had all the fuses and such in a plastic bag in the glove box. Check that they are installed before you go "chasing any wild geese". If I were to make a guess, I...

Even if you select "do not accept cookies" overall, you can still accept them on a case by case basis. There is a thing there where you can accept cookies from websites that need them.

    4x4

The virbration might be a bad axle shaft roller bearing inside the bearing hub on that side. There are two bearings, one is the main load supporting bearing. The smaller roller bearing supports the end of the axle shaft when the truck is in 2wd. In 2wd, the front driveline is unlocked and...

    Squeaky leaf springs

I didn't have much trouble replacing them either. Once the wheels were off the ground and the suspension was hanging, it was a piece of cake. Anyone with any mechanical apptitude shouldn't have any trouble replacing those shim pads.

No rear lights, need wiring diagram

Different circuits/fuses for truck's tail lights and the trailer. So don't assume because one doesn't have power, the other doesn't either. There are trailer light fuses under the hood for left/right/tail lights.

No rear lights, need wiring diagram

Since you have no b/u, running or brake lights, the problem must be something in common with all of them. Looking at the wiring schematic, I see there is a ground connection at the left rear of the vehicle that looks to be common with all those lights. That is where I'd start to look. Look...

    Is this the carrier bearing?

If it is changing with the loading of the powertrain, U-joints or even a pinion bearing are the most likely causes. I'd be looking at U-joints first. A carrier bearing sound shouldn't change with powertrain loading but with rotational speed/rpm. If you have never replaced either, and...

    No Brakes

No it's not your vacume pump. The small electric vacume pump is for the HVAC system and autolocking front hubs. It has no function with the braking system. The power boosting for the brakes comes from the power steering pump. My guess would be your problem is something related to the...

    PRO'S and CON's

Pro's: Keeps the intercooler tubes from popping out of the rubber boots at the worst possible time. Cons: Keeping that "pro" in mind, I can't think of any cons worth mentioning.

    Regen additive

Maybe after a while the regen stuff will begin to show up in auto parts places & such as other fluids like antifreeze, tranny fluid etc. At $9.83 gallon, I'm sure other more affordable sources are bound to show up.

    2001 F350 Deader than....

There is a recall for the CPS. They should replace the CPS for free with the new & improved one. If your CPS is bad, you might be able to get something for the tow too.

    starting issues

The easiest way would be to hook up a scanner like an AutoEnginuity. If there is low HPOP pressure being reported to the PCM, it could be problems with the FCP, IPR or actual low output pressure from the HPOP.
