Thanks for clearing that up... I know that the old IDI filters will work, as they have the same Valve body... the can itself is about an inch shorter... I suspected that was the filter he was refering too.... guess I was wrong... go figure ...me wrong...:D
4X4..... goofy Touch Drive or Manual X-Fer Case
Touch Drive may have partial engaged and placed your X-Fer Case in Neutral. you may need to take a 1/2 socket and manualy put it back to 2 high. If the problem is you cant move your shift lever to get it in gear there are a couple of under hood...
I beleave the 3630 is for the ealier 7.3, the Valve body is the same and will work on our Power Strokes, however it has slightly less capacity as the 3974. In regaurds to FRAM... this is a subject that has been hashed a bunch... Ive been using FRAM .."Allied Signal Products" for 25 + years...
Officialy 15 Quart... with a new Filter... I have always put in the full 4 gallons...By Oil Change time I think I am still taking out about 4 Gallons... the oil level is still above the HAtch marks on the dip stick by about the same amount as when I had done the Oil change.
I run the SCMT... at the 110 setting, Pull a 37' 5er, together I am any where between 20K... and have been as much as 23.5K When Pushing the throttel to 100% I can easily hit 1300 egt's and 25 lbs of boost... But Common sense should tell you to back off or drop a gear... on extended long...

Under the FWIW Column... the 7.3 SCMT 1705 has treated me very well, good fuel economy, decent EGT's when pulling the 5er, and decent performance... + the added benifit of the Code reader.

That is right around the #'s I got, before adding a programmer, Now I consistantly hit 18.5 City Highway combined, 21.5 All highway..., however I have the 7.3 not the 6.0, From what I have read however, the results are similar.

Spark plug setup is for a Gasoline version, I've been communicating with some of the developers of this engine, very sincere group of fella's. They are currently in works with a Boat Mnf. for initial instalations and trials.
