    Broken Superlift Add-a-Leaf

The other interesting point of this thread is that the truck is still sitting level in all 4 corners. The ride also seems to be the normal. I pulled a 2 place snowmobile trailer yesterday and had no problems. So I now know it is a good idea to look at the suspension more frequently. You think...

Good news I called Superlift today and they are covering it. They just took down all my info and are sending out a new leaf in the morning. I was very impressed an relieved by their response. I did not recieve any explanation of why it broke.

    Broken Superlift Add-a-Leaf

Well the last time I pulled anything heavy or went off-road was in August. So I believe it has been this way for a while. I need the truck for daily driving so hopefully I can get Superlift to just send a spring ASAP! Thanks for the support guys.

    Broken Superlift Add-a-Leaf

Well I see on there website that there warranty is a lifetime limited warranty. As long as it was not due to operator error or trail obstacles or accidents. Mine was not from operator error or abuse so it should be covered. The only problem is that customer pays shipping. I also need to remove...

    Broken Superlift Add-a-Leaf

I removed my rear wheels to service the brakes, and to my surprise my passennger side superlift add-a-leaf was cracked. It is cracked right through the centering bolt. My question is, can i drive the truck for a short time until the new leaf arrives? My guess is the spring has been broken since...

Bestwas to secure storage chest in truck??

I have a tool chest mounted to the floor of my bed. I drilled holes through the bed and chest first. Then i ran bolts through the bed from the bottom and threaded a nut on the top. Then i set the chest over the bolts and put on wing nuts from the inside of the chest. This way i can easily remove...

    Front Hub Wont Turn

Well i decided to give up on my siezed hub. I found one at the local junk yard for $75. It was manufactured in 2007 and was in great condition. My truck is all back together with new ball joints and u-joints on the front end. Thanks for the help guys.

    Front Hub Wont Turn

Mine has the same issue. I have taken the hub apart as far as i can. All of the gears work fine. My problem is in the outer end of the hub. It seems to be sealed really well and i assume this is how the vacuum works. Is there any way to take out the outside knob without distroying it?

    doing ball joints

Are the seals on the outer axle tubes a very common wear item. It looks like they rotate with the axle and ride on the end of the axle housing. Mine were both worn about 1/8-1/4 more than my new seals. Should i use some sort of grease to make these last longer. One of my axle tubes has alot of...

    Transmission fluid flush pays

I bought my truck with 160,000mi two years ago, It now has 186,000mi. I am not sure when the trans fluid was last flushed. Is is a good idea to flush the trans and filter on a trans with this many miles. I have always heard that it can cause more problems. I may just change the filter and and...

Changing the oil in the rearend and front

Oh my bad on the super crew definition. I guess i assumed he was talking about a super cab. Anyway good luck with your axle fluid change.

Changing the oil in the rearend and front

Im not sure if the oil capacity is incresed or not. If it is, it is very minimal. The stamped steel covers have a tendency to rust. They also do not cool the oil as well as a 2008 cover. The 2008 cast aluminum cover has cooling fins on it to reduce rear axle oil temps.

    Poor mpg

For a cheap increase in exhaust flow i would replace the stock muffler with a straight pipe. I did this on my 7.3 two years ago and have had good results. Most muffler shops will do this for $50-80. You will notice a slight increase in exhaust noise as well.

Changing the oil in the rearend and front

A super crew has two rear suicide doors that only open when the front doors are open. A crew can has 4 doors that open individually. As far as the axle fluid changes, make sure you get the correct weight oil that is recommended for your axles. If you have a rear limited slip you need a...

    05 Grill on 01

I have done the full front end conversion on my 2000 (grill, bumper, header panel, headlights). It is a direct bolt on. But in order to use a 2001 bumper with a 2005 grill, cutting the grill is required as stated earlier. Powerstroke shop sells the full front end conversion. I dont believe they...

Like many superduty owners, the paint on my leather steering wheel has worn off in many spots. After looking at available options, i've decided to try a Grant styling ring.
