    Warn hub wont stay engaged...

So I'm driving home from work, stop at the chain ckpoint n lock in the hubs (Warn HvyDuty w/Dynatrac kit) and head off up the summit. 40miles later of 4wd (CalTrans wasnt doing much plowing..) I turned off to the county road towards home. Soon I hear and feel what seems like I'm driving on...

    Question Ca smog!

Hmmmm I did a little Google fu and it looks like... The smog stations do a visual inspection...I'm thinkin the only thing they can inspect is the intake (CARB sticker??) and exhaust. And my pickup has no sticker anywhere that says it is a Calif or 48 state truck so not sure how the smog...

Spare hanger broke, spare is gone!

Uh ohhh Mr. Shelton, I have what may be some bad news for ya. As a Deputy Sheriff I've taken reports on spare tire thefts over the years. Everyone of them sounds like your story. What happens is that the bad guys knock off the plate at the end of the cable holding the tire. (I haven't...

So I'm building some gym type equipment, and have to drill a number of 5/8" holes in 11gauge mild steel rectangular tubing. I don't remember from shop class if I should drill pilot holes to save wear n tear on drill bits and drill press, or just go to it with the 5/8 drill...:dunno :dunno Does...

    AFE Filters........

Ais I would recommend giving a look at Ford's Severe Service AIS system. It flows very well, filters the best of all, you can hole the bottom of the air box to get even more flow (the filter element is HUGE) and again it filters the best.....These things aint cheeeep to rebuild if the motor...

    New Downpipe

I've got a Magnaflow exhaust on my 03 7.3 CC. Now contemplating putting a 4" downpipe to finish the exhause upgrade. Has anyone else done one? How difficult? Was it worth it?? Truck is a semi-daily driver, often hauls 6-12K worth of livestock...Definitely not a hot-rod, but a work...

    Dieselsite AC upgrades

Cold Rush My 03 7.3 had the factory valve on it, so Bob Riley sold me the Cold Rush. When I go to the SJ Valley for my town job, it gets over 100 easy. I now cant use the Max AC setting...and I like it cold in the truck!!! Install was a snap, too. dieselsite rocks!! Mike

    Slow to take off?

Gears? My wifes 08 feels the same compared to my (slightly upgraded) 7.3 I believe the seat of the pants feel in hers is influenced by the 3:55 gears. Not sure I would do that again......Maybe the same for you??? Other than that, I like her alot......when I get to drive it! :sweet Mike

    No GPS?

Loose connection I've quite a bit of GPS experience from the Arrrmy and other endeavors. If as you say you have an unobstructed view of the (especially southern) sky from North America, and lose the signal, you have an antenna problem. Used to happen all the time when we first mounted...

    Hi pitched squeal....not my wife

Hmmm I haven't changed my sig, but I dumped the AFE for an AIS. Same reason and now that ya mention it, the timeframe fits. That doggone AFE sounded like an F-15 in full mil power when I was goin up the summit too...Makes sense that the sound changed....Will have to see if it occurs down in...

    Hi pitched squeal....not my wife

This is starting to occur a little more often... Going up hill, at any DP chip setting, loaded or empty, warm ambient temps (live @ 6000'..) and downshifting to "passing gear" which brings the RPMs up I get a loud high pitched metallic squeal that ends as soon as I get off the throttle even a...

    Seat Cover Issue

Marathon Seat Covers I am not sure what covers you are looking at on Ebay; they might be great or might be junk. I have found you really have to do some research to get good stuff offa Ebay. I put a pair of Ebay covers on my wife's Duramax-they suck. Colors faded, they thinned out and got...

Yessir, I came to the same conclusion. Guess great minds think alike! :sweet By the time I put another 150000 on it maybe someone will have brainstormed a solution! I cant gripe too much, it's a good rig so far. Hopefully wife's Duramax doesn't have one.... :watchout Mike
