Question Truck won't keep up on the hwy

Welcome! Since this is an IDI, I would recommend to go to our sister site: www.oilburners.net The 6.9 and 7.3 IDI section is about the best forum for these trucks. However, with the being the F-Superduty, the highest gear is going to be 4.88:1, but more than likely 5.13:1 or lower. The...

    Bump Steer

When you hit a bump, does it move the steering wheel and move the front wheels enough to change the direction of travel? Or do you just get a jolt in the steering wheel that you’re not used to? I’ve noticed on my rear wheel/4 wheel/all wheel drive vehicles, wither there are gearbox or rack and...

OK, I'm going to nip this in the bud. The video was made by a Ford Service Tech that has made dozens of videos that are posted on YouTube and many forums. I see you don't post very often, so you are not as familiar with the expectations on this forum. Behavior is like this is not tolerated...

2 lane roads, one lane in each direction? Or 2 lanes in the same direction with 2 more in the other? Around here, if the road is a true 2 lane road, one lane in each direction the maximum speed limit in my part of the country (Midwest/Indiana/Illinois) is 55. To have a higher limit, it will...

Question No DING when key is turned on.

That ding should be the seatbelt dinger. It has nothing to do with the glow plugs. If you have your seatbelt fastened before you turn the key on, it won’t ding. Does the seatbelt light on the dash come on if you don’t have your seatbelt fastened when you turn the key on?

    2017 Ford F250

If you are on a 2 lane road, which should be 55-60MPH limit at the most, and you need to break 100MPH to pass them, then you shouldn't be passing in the first place. If that truck is doing the posted limit, or a couple miles under, then you shouldn't be passing, since you are already going as...

    diesel engine heater

Well, funny you ask. This started back in the 6.0 engines. Every diesel engine built by IH/Navistar (6.9/7.3 IDI, 7.3/6.0/6.4 PSD) had a block heater installed. Even all the way back to the 6.9 IDI in 1983, when Ford put the engine in the truck, they installed and routed the cord to the front...

    2000-250SD body parts compatibility

Welcome to the forum. I'm next door in Indiana, not too far from Indy. I think any F-250, F-350, Excursion parts from 99-04 should work. 05-07 would also work, but 05 was the year the grille and headlights changed. I have an 03 Excursion, and been around many pickups, and the only difference...

    6.0 issues

Dave, that is incorrect.... the HPOP only pumps engine oil..... the HFCM (Horizontal Fuel Conditioning Module) on the drivers frame rail is the ONLY part that creates fuel pressure. The spring in the fuel bowl, in this case the blue spring that was replaced, is what controls the pressure...

Where is the ICP located? If it is in the HPOP cover, behind the FICM up against the firewall, that is an 03-Early 04 engine designation If it is up front on the oil rail in the head (similar to the 7.3PSD ICP location), where it is relatively easy to get to, not buried behind the engine, that...

    No trailer brakes

I don't have that new of a truck, but on many older Fords, equipped with a factory towing package, a relay would have to be installed in the power distribution box for the brake controller and the charge line to have power. Not sure on the newer trucks.....
