    Tow/Haul and SCT

Please explain the mechanical/electronic operation of the Tow/Haul mode. Does it simply drop the tranny into a lower gear and that's what slows you down? I say this only because the engine starts to scream at higher RPMs once you brake in T/H. Secondly...does an SCT program work with the...

    Strange tire wear

Yeah...I'm thinkin' that the previous owner had problems parallel parking. Maybe that's why he dumped the truck.

    Strange tire wear

Haven't had the truck too long so I really hadn't noticed until I recently detailed the wheels. The sidewalls of the tires have what appear to be perfectly cut crescents. The crescents are several in number and run almost completely around the tires. They don't run deep into the rubber, but...

    SP Diesel

Their tow tune looks interesting. Unfortunately, I can't find anybody that has used it and I'm not too sure I want to be a guinea pig.

    I have been busy lately

FMt...Truck looks great.:thumbs Now for a few questions. Rancho doesn't make a stabilizer for the Ex, or is the one you installed bigger? What improvement did you see? Didn't you have an HA before the Pull-Rite, or am I confused...yet again? Have you towed with the Pull-Rite yet?

    I'm all smiles

Finally....finally, after all these cold winter months. Filled up the daily driver yesterday and paid $1.59/gallon for regular unleaded. Getting the Ex ready for a trip this weekend so I made a fuel run last night...$1.54/gallon. Now that's what I'm talkin' about. :sweet

diesel gonna be over $5 a gallon!!!!!???

If that's the case, I better recalculate what our trip to Port Aransas is going to cost. May have to hire the kids out along the way.

    Part numbers

Would like to verify what I'm looking at. Would anyone be able to provide part numbers for V and W code front leaf springs? Thanks much.

Went by The Plant This Weekend........

Are those V codes or X codes in the front.;)

    Spring installation

Anyone want to take a crack at this one?

    Spring installation

Shouldn't I only have to jack up the frame just until both rear tires come off the ground and then set the stands under the frame at that height? Why the wood blocks?
  21. S

    Spring installation

Finally took the plunge. Today I picked up what are basically brand new F code rear springs for a song and a dance...what a deal. These suckers are heavy. I've found V codes for the front, but I'm waiting to hear on some X codes that another guy might give me. Here's the $1K question...

    Spring Swap

Do you think taller blocks make axle wrap any worse than it already is? Also, any reason why the rear springs from an '05 F250 SD won't work on the Ex. I've got a line on some right now and the guy is trying to figure out what code they are.
  24. S

    Spring Swap

CHP...Are you sayin' that you currently have a 4" block with your stock rear springs? Anyone have specs for the ratings of the V and B code springs?

    Why do diesels 'clack'?

In addition, atomized diesel fuel combusts very rapidly. A lot of the diesel "clatter" is the rapid-oxidation of fuel between the cast-iron heads and aluminum piston crowns. Shhweet sound, huh? :sweet :thumbs
