    My svo kit coming

Relax. I'm coming up on my 2nd anniversary dealing with WVO. I've been through the learning curve and made many mistakes in the beginning such as not de-watering and pumping from the bottom of the IBC. Don't rely on your vegoil filter to remove water. They're really more effective at...

    My svo kit coming

    1) Waste of energy 2) You'll want the oil heated to 300* 3) Takes forever for 5 gallons of 300*F oil to cool enough to pour safely. 4) Heating VO to 300*F does not ensure there is no water! . I heat my de-watering 55 gallon drum with a band heater to 160*F. Then I turn off the heat. The...

    My svo kit coming

There is an add-on available to our kits for a vegoil cooler. The oil is routed through granular dry ice. :lmao

    Using new veggie oil

"They" say 160-180*F before the IP, but PSDs don't have IPs. Having a common rail system provides last minute heat to the oil. :sly Having said that, only run WVO in a hot engine.

    My svo kit coming

Chris ;tu on your new found sources. I get all mine in cubies. I take the cardboard off and let them settle. Then I pour off the clear. The empty cubies and cardboard goes to the recycle area at the dump. Ben I see no mention of de-watering your oil. :dunno HERE is how I designed my de-water...

    Using new veggie oil

I'm a bit skeptical at $1.95/gal for virgin oil.

    My svo kit coming

I have no idea what size thread. All I know is the cap is 13mm. :sorry If I have time I'll try to find out for you tomorrow. Craig suggests running virgin oil on its maiden voyage. That way if there is a problem, bad oil can be ruled out. Since you make bioD why not run 1/2 tank of that? Heck, I...

    gauge question

The colored vacuum gauge on the Vormax unscrews. Use that port for your vacuum line connection. The Vormax colored vacuum gauge can be reused on your other filter head. WorthLess :D

Happy Earth Day... Run your SD clean!

Running on WVO is recycling a waste product. ;tu

    gauge question

What are each gauge's max & min range? The oil gauge usually has a hotter maximum. The vegoil temps mimic the coolant temps so I say water gauge. My water gauge starts at 100*F with a maximum of 260*F and since our engines overheat at 246*F it's perfect for water and vegoil. BTW the hottest...

    My svo kit coming

I can tell you how it works in the 94-97s. The aluminum block replaces the fuel filter and the fuel bowl and sensors are intact. It displaces 95% of the volume in the fuel bowl allowing a much shorter purge. By doing this makes it necessary to have a separate fuel filter for each tank, the...

    My svo kit coming

I re-installed the four threaded hose barbs after cleaning them up but the FPHE is still leaking from a back plate. Plantdrive offers a 5 year warranty on everything EXCEPT the FPHE so I'm looking for a new one. My kit came with a 16 plate unit so I'm thinking of upgrading to a 26 plate model.

    My svo kit coming

How hot is are your plastic fittings rated? The FPHE gets to almost 200*F. If you look closely at my FPHE the top two brass fittings have a green slime and the bottom two don't. WVO and copper don't mix so the green is the oxidized copper in the brass. The bottom two are the coolant and are...

    My svo kit coming

So after the Pollak valve (which was installed in the same location as the removed OEM switch valve) are the two thin steel lines that run up to engine. I bypassed the steel supply line because it's not insulated. So at the FPHE fuel out I connected a very long length of J30R9 that runs forward...

    My svo kit coming

Do these help? I'm a bit embarrassed at the grime on my FPHE. I have a slow drip at top right fuel in. I need to fix it. :D The teflon paste will be replaced with permatex. That's a 12v pad heater on my Vormax for max heat on the filter for better fuel flow. So each heater core hose has a tee...

    My svo kit coming

RUBBER AND bioD DON'T GET ALONG AT ALL! I RUN B99 IN REAR TANK. Coolant loop is 100% Gates XL rubber heater hose Fuel lines were 100% replaced with J30R9 fuel injection hose in 3/8". J30R9 is about $4/ft at AutoZone. It's bioD compatible and can take heat >300*F. Photos to be attached...

    Racor R60T Installation

Best price I've found is $23.46 for the R90T HERE . Order a case of 6 and keep two with you at all times. The beauty is the R90T fits the Vormax too. Can anybody find a link for them cheaper? :dunno

    Racor R60T Installation

I use the R90T. It's also a 10 micron but is a larger filter with more filter media with a faster flow rate. Larger filter media = longer filter life. I have the same Racor fuel housing and installed a vacuum gauge on the out port to indicate when it's time to change the filter. The coiled...
