    Fuel Pressure/Blue Spring

I am starting to get tired of dumping money into the 6.0 I have changed out just about every part that goes bad. Now I apparently need a new FICM, How can a circuit board (FICM) have so many failures. I have seen a number of threads that indicate a bad FICM. I like the power that it offers (when...

    No heat after EGR delete

When I installed my EGR delete I reverse flushed the heater core too. He might want to do the same. Remove the hose on the bottom of the degas bottle and the inlet hose to the heater core and back flush.

That is correct 'circuit' codes. Input???

    abs light then cel?

My ABS light kept coming on when my alternator would acted up (low charge) and i have not seen the light after replacing the alternator.

    Fuel Pressure/Blue Spring

So I installed the blue spring and the engine sounds quieter. I am though, still getting CEL codes indicating low fuel pressure to injector 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 when I tow a 5000 lb. vehicle.

    Alternator

I installed a new alternator and it charges fine now. I only got the 110A alternator from Kriagen Auto parts. Life time warrenty. Next comes my "blue spring" intallation.

    Fuel Pressure/Blue Spring

I have been reading about the installation of the "blue" spring on the fuel pressure regulator. It is suppose to increase the fuel pressure to 70+ psi (from the OEM 50 psi). Has anyone installed one of these and what do you think of them?

    Alternator

Well it did it again. everything seems fine while, engine is running. This morning the batteries are reading 8.9v, no start, just clicking. Jumped the batteries (after a while) and the engine started. Alternator reads 13.0v (at 2000 rpms). I put my meter on amps and put it on the red wire from...

    Alternator

My alternator at idle gives 12.1v and at 2000 rpms goes to 13.7 My problem is that my batteries went down to 8.9v and would not start. The batteries are only 4 months old. I can't find any short nor did I leave anything on while parked. The same thing happened four months ago and I thought...

    Modified EGR

After installing the EGR cooler delete on my truck I modified the EGR valve to give the appearance of stock. In my state, diesels are required to pass bi-annual SMOG testing. They conduct a visual inspection and exhaust (visual) pipe (smoke) check. Using a chop saw I removed the internals of...

    2003 f350

You can probably ask for a lower price tag. 195K is nothing for a diesel and if it is a 6.0L make sure that you check it by starting it in the early morning when the engine is cold, check the color of the coolant (brown is not good), check all the fluids and normal stuff. I got mine (CREW CAB...

    edge evloution/ hurt or help

Did you conduct the coolant flush yourself? When I did my coolant flush I removed the t-stat and disconnected the lower hose connection on the degas bottle where I connected a garden hose to "back" flush the system and heater core and block. Back flushing is required to, atleast, try to clear...

    Battery Upgrade

I put two Costco batteries in about two years ago with a 60 month warranty. I noticed that the alternator powers at different voltages (12.8 to 15.2) while operating the engine. I discussed this with a (friend) mechanic and he told me that that could kill a battery prematurely because of the...

    newbie from nor cal

WELCOME to the forum. I believe that once you get the normal "bugs" out of that 6.0 you will be very happy with it. It's funny how so many people dump (sell) their 6.0s when they start to have the issues that so many others have fix on their own. You don't have to take into the...

    CEL codes

I recently installed the EGR delete to my 2003 F250. I have been getting the following codes on it now. P0401 EGR flow insufficient P0460 Fuel Level Sensor A U138B Unknown I don't know why I am getting insufficient flow from the EGR as there is no EGR installed. I was think that it was...

    Disassembling EGR valve

Since installing the EGR delete I have been getting code (improper EGR pressure sensed) and researching indicates a bed EGR valve. I think it is a bad Exhaust Backpressure Sensor or a clogged tube. Input???

    white smoke engine locked

If it was a head gasket it would have different signs. Head gaskets normally are indicated by excess pressure and blow out from the degas bottle and white smoke. If it smokes white and the degas is normal (except for the loss of coolant) it normally is the EGR cooler and Oil cooler failure.

    white smoke engine locked

I heard about that, just could not find real good detailed instruction. I have changed out injectors before so I knew how to do that.

I too plan on installing ball valves to isolate the filter when replacing filters.

Question What did you do to your truck today?

Over the last weekend I replaced the oil cooler, installed an EGR delete, removed the fuel injector to remove coolant from the cylinder (hydro-lock), flushed the coolant system, and surprisingly, it all works fine. What a weekend. P.S. I don't have a garage

Question Losing coolant, white smoke.... Head gaskets? EGR? HELP!!!

I am liking it so far. I plan to flush the system out again and install a coolant filter in the near future.

Question Losing coolant, white smoke.... Head gaskets? EGR? HELP!!!

That's funny because it's not the oil that clogs the oil cooler it is the bad coolant. That they should have replaced (along with the oil and filter) when they repaired it the first time. If the Bullet Proof did not cost so much I know many other people would be installing it. Why doesn't...

Question Losing coolant, white smoke.... Head gaskets? EGR? HELP!!!

As we all know, most stealer ships repair most warranties at the lowest cost to them. When I had my truck repaired the first time they did not flush the coolant system and it clogged the oil cooler up again shortly after the repairs were completed. When I repaired it myself this last time I made...

    Disassembling EGR valve

This may be true but I could not find exact instructions on the removal of the glow plug. I have already (in the past) replaced fuel injectors. Also, I read many warnings about ruining the glow plug rails/plugs due to extreme heat. P.S. I did not forget to post pictures of the modified EGR...
