    Is there a "better" starter/7.3

Not yet. I'm going to clean the terminals and check the connection at the starter. If thats not yet then I'm going to pull the batteries and have them tested. And if THAT is not it, then I'll buy another starter.

    Is there a "better" starter/7.3

Back to my issue... Did it again today. Started fine this morning. But when I went to crank it to leave work...it was slow turning over. I bought a battery terminal cleaning kit. Gonna do that and check out the connections at the starter. Anything else I should check?

    Is there a "better" starter/7.3

Just for fun...I like going on sites and add stuff to the cart. Then go all the way up to where you pay....which I really shouldn't do that. Wife doesn't seem to like it too much...:rant

Question Different tire recommendations for same size lift?

How do you like that ATS tc? I've heard horror stories about them and dealing with the return process. I don't think a truck that could even make enough torque to break a good ATS tc would be street legal...at what?...2000 lbs of tq? Man it makes me sick when I have to make repairs like...

Question Different tire recommendations for same size lift?

I thought the price he said in the vid was for EVERYTHING (new tc, gearing, and transmission rebuild)? My rebuild with the tc was $2200-$2300. So if you go ahead and get it done then you should only spend about a grand on the tc at most and then whatever gearing you would need to go to. And you...

Question Different tire recommendations for same size lift?

That was the problem with mine...dont see why they just didn't stamp or engrave the gearing on the differential. I called my local parts dept and found out my gearing before I found the wiki article

Question Different tire recommendations for same size lift?

$3,000??? I found some for my truck before for about $400 a set. Isn't it just the ring and pinion that has to be replaced or something else?

Question Different tire recommendations for same size lift?

The transmission shop rebuilt my tranny with a BD torque converter, and on the receipt they charged me...it was either 6 or 9 hundred (doesn't matter which way it faces RIGHT?) for the torque converter. I know how you feel on the preventative maintanence. Been several times when i've bit the...

Question Different tire recommendations for same size lift?

HOPEFULLY he dont take purty truck off roading. But if you do, NDsuperduty, you should go check out the vid at powerstrokehelp.com of a vid..think its called FUBAR-Big tires kills transmissions. Shows a nice looking truck with a snorkel on 38"s. IIRC it has done ate up 2 or 3 billet torque...

Question Different tire recommendations for same size lift?

There should be a VIN information category in the WIKI articles at the top of this page. Larger tires will put more strain on the transmission and torque converter no doubt. If you ever like to show off or play around in your truck, then that puts a strain on the drivetrain as well. And...

    Expensive CCV kit???

Checked my oil yesterday. I've ran it about 2500 miles since the last oil change. It has maybe moved .1"...doesnt the marking on the dipstick represent 4-6qts? I took a picture of the dipstick after I had done the oil change, ran the new oil through the system, and let it set so I could compare...

    Expensive CCV kit???

I know it makes it as a vapor all the way past my gas tank. So maybe another 4'-5' of hose to make it to the exhaust...I think it will still be a vapor. May be a different story when it gets colder though. And I'm not outraged about the BP spill. Yeah it sucks and shouldn't have happened. But...

    Expensive CCV kit???

I doubt the temp of the exhaust will be able to burn it. But as long as your truck is running the exhaust will keep pushing it out as a vapor....not drip. And when you turn your truck off the ccv vapors stop. I would also put the ccv inlet at an angle pointed with the flow of the exhaust so that...

    Question Water Pump Bolt sizes

No he doesn't say what size bolt. But you can see them in vid 4 and get an idea where they go when he puts them in. Maybe the Ford parts dept. can help out. They do sell new bolts WITH the pump (as showed in the vid)...maybe they sell them seperatly:dunno

    Expensive CCV kit???

I've read that some people tap a hose from the ccv to the exhaust. If it was ME, I would do it at the tip....so it was still vapor and not clogging up my exhaust on the inside. Don't know if thats possible in the exhaust, but I've seen what it can do to an intake. I've also read that some people...
