    doesn't sound like turbo surge to me. that just occurs when your boost gauge starts fluttering and you hear the turbo cutting out. you had some sort of electrical issue....maybe a safety parameter the tuner has in it? sounds to me like something got overloaded and told your pcm to shut her...

    what else have you done to the truck? Fill out your signature with all of your mods so we can help you. The black smoke would come from the dp-tuner. what kind of tune are you running? Last time fuel filter has been changed? all your fluids good and full? last time oil and filter change?

    2002 7.3 Coolant Temp runs hot with load

    it might be worth installing a coolant filter. i would try and have the radiator cleaned out first before i replae it. there is a chance it might be partially plugged and it might be only badly plugged enough that when theres a load on it, you see overheating.

    is the coolant level good? when is the last time it has been changed? Thermostat ever been replaced? any coolant leaking from around the water pump? my guess is, your radiator could potentially be clogged, or your waterpump is going south. adding a coolant filter would not at all be a bad...

    last week, i replaced my coolant and fuel filters. today, discount tire was running a special, so i got some new tires cause mine were about shot. 285/75/R16E BFG A/T's. Only thing i dont like is that they dont have the white lettering, but oh well. kinda disappointed the goodyears only...

    sure sounds like you've lost a whole bank of injectors. if you can work on it, i would check the harness on top of the valve covers and then pull the covers off and see if any of the connectors are damaged and/or disconnected. give that a go and let us know who things look.

    what year is your truck? go and look at the wire connections that go to each valve cover and ensure they are connected. if so, then remove the valve covers and ensure that the wiring all looks ok under them going to each injector.

    if/when you get another...get an alarm that kills the ignition. that will keep it from getting going at all. I would also install jimmi jammers. that will keep them from popping the lock and getting in.

    Yea, if the front of the raptor weren't so darn ugly...id consider one. I sure do like the 6.2L V8, and the upfitter switches that are availiable with it. Put those in a lariat, and I'll be pretty darn happy

    Honestly...i think there might indeed be a trend here. With the cost of diesel some $0.30 above gas, the motor itself is an $8k option, the maintenance is higher cost...it just doesnt make sense for the average joe to own one that just uses it as a daily commuter and occassional light tow...

    Question Failing Water Pump Causing High Tranny Temps?

    yea tranny lines are still going into the bottom of the radiator...or so i would assume...i didnt do any rerouting outside of just hooking up the new lines to fit the 6.0 cooler. yea...ill be changing the wp as soon as i can. probably gonna take it in...i dont wanna jack with it.
