    Starting problem

cost is about 30 bucks...and its very easy to replace. loosen 4 wires, pull the old gpr out, fasten it back in, and you're set

    7.3 shuts off

A loose chip will definately cause the problems you have. I've got mine fastened on there with duct tape, and it has not moved. The chip sits on the pcm, and then i put the housing on, then duct taped the crap out of it.

back from Mexico (picked up oil leak)

what I always do...and have found it to work well...is to get everything apart and use simple green or your degreaser of choice and really get all the oil off. Even use a little brake cleaner on the pipes themselves but be careful on the boots...it might be too corosive. i've never tried the...

    Help!!!!

A scanner will not run a compression test. You have to hook up actual mechanical equipment to the truck and only will that allow you to test the compression on each cylinder.

something else i noticed...looks like the alternator has been replaced.

    smaller mirrors vs bigger ones

Yep, i would agree its potential that its been chipped at one time. Only way to know would be to pull the PCM and check the board to see if the silicone has been removed and if a chip has been on there. Under the hood...a few things: 1. The decorative "powerstroke" cover has been removed...

    smaller mirrors vs bigger ones

Yes, you'd have to splice the wires, I've done it and it worked well and was worth it.

    Smokey Cold starts

Theoritically speaking...no, its not a hard job. You pull the valve covers, disconnect the harness to each glow plug, then unscrew them and install new ones, reconnect the harness and you're up and running. Where you can run into trouble is the tips of them have been known to break off from...

    Smokey Cold starts

If you've got a good, strong glowplug system, you shouldnt need to cycle them 2-3 times at those temps. My guess is you've got a bad plug or 2 (or on their way out). The stancor relay will certainly help, but if youve got bad plugs...its not going to fix your problem.

    smaller mirrors vs bigger ones

It was indeed an option no matter which model you got (250/350 dually/srw) you'll be able to see around the fender with the small ones, but id recommend the larger ones. they make the truck look better (which isnt functional, but a preference), and more importantly, you can see around and...

2.5 hours of labor to change an icp sensor? correct me if i'm wrong, but on mine...that involved unscrewing the old one, putting in a new one, and connecting up the wiring.. took me a total of half an hour. am i missing something?

F350 - Loud banging from underneath

Have you gotten under there and shook everything around to see if any of the end links or track bar is loose from worn bushings? lets get that eliminated first.

F350 - Loud banging from underneath

does it get louder with speed?

F350 - Loud banging from underneath

my guess is you have a sway bar, and the bushings have gone bad. More specifically...its probably the end links. Get under there and you'll see that right about under the driver's side floor board, there will be a long piece of steel attached to the frame on one end, and the other to the sway...

    Oil cooler fix/oil filter stuck

get a filter wrench to get the filter off. be sure and use some brake cleaner to clean the surface off the filter off first so that you'll get a nice tight grip with the filter wrench.
