ok, this may sound silly, but occaisionally my power windows stutter on the way up. both drivers and passenger.

is this a sign of the operators going bad or do i just need some lube in the tracks.

i don;t want to pull the door panels off and am not keen about spraying stuff doen in there to be forever cleaning oil from the glass.

ideas?

It may not be the window that is sticking. The regulator may be the thing that is sticking. Try a little grease on the sissor mechanism and the gears.

Well I remember seeing this on another site but can't find the thread.

Mine "stutter" on ocassion. I noticed it's when the truck is really dirty and the window sweeps are dirty. I didn't notice that until I read that thread that I can't find. It was posted by a reliable member that Ford made some kind of silicone lube to spray on the window sweeps.

Does it chatter to where it shakes the doorpanel? Mine does but if I keep the window sweeps dust free it doesn't do it as much. I'll keep looking for that post.

we use a silcone spray,(napa, couple buckaroos) lighty in the tracks every couple of months, the red sand here, gets in everything,
the motors are made just strong enough to roll up the window,( just incase you get your neck stuck in em :D ) any friction or drag makes em go stttttuuuutttteeeeeeer,

popping the door panels off are a cinch , its the peel and ply stuff behind em i dont like, it never seems to want to go back on right
