looking at my first mod. not very impressed with the stock air filter assembly. just wondering which one is best for all weather driving. i might be plowing snow in winter too. any info would be great.

if yours is a 6.0L, the stock assembly is actually pretty good, you can do a cold air intake MOD for 7.3 & 6.0to gain more direct airflow into the stock assembly.

i currently have a K&N gen. II, it has been a good system for me. i am looking to replace one day.

one of the more popular is the AFE stage 2 (just check with any of the SDD sponsers, they carry all of them just about it)

get some gauges too while your at it, so you can keep a closer eye on what your truck is doin (Boost, EGT's, tranny)

K&N's been good on gas motors, but some will agree that AFE's 7 layer filter system is much better for diesel applications, not to say K&N sucks for diesels but I'm going to go with AFE.

I'll probably throw the typical gauges in before anything, that way I can see how well mods are reacting to the truck as I do them versus doing gauges later down the road.

when it comes time to change my system, i am gonna go with the AFE stage 2, or possibly the volant air system.

Take a look at the Airaid. I have used both Airaid and K&N (once on the same rig) and have had great luck with the Airaid.

You should like the price too.
