where to buy a lap top backlight

this one was free, its old, it never screws up on me, i just have been using it with a flashlight to see what the screen says.

a new one is expensive, will break if i ever drop it, the software will screw up at least once a week, and after a month it will be considered a dinosaur just like the one i have now, so whats the point??? i only use this for talking to cars and trucks, nothing else. i have been keeping my eye out for another $50 or less dinosaur that works, but i havent found one.

What model is it?

I have a VIAO laptop with a motherboard that is NFG. I want to say it is about 5 years old.

I just put new hinges on the lid about a month before the motherboard died.

If the model is comaptable, you might be able to just swap lids. A lot easier than trying to remove the back light and swapping it out.

It's a PCG-FXA63.

However, I hadn't looked at it in something like a year. Appaprently, the battery burst and broke the bottom portion of the laptop open. The display "looks" to be OK. Whether it is functionally OK or not I can't tell.

If the model numbers are compatable, send me a PM and we can work something out.
