There is fire.-mad


Casper Mountain, about 3 miles out my back door. Started on Sat with a lightning strike that ended up flaring up yesterday. Lastnight it was about 1400 acres that were involved, currently it is over 5000 acres and I havent heard a peep uttered of a containment status. Lotsa smoke and ash here at the house. I feel for the residents that have been evac'd (the evac area starts about 5 blocks south of my house) and I really feel for the fire fighters up on the lines.

Today it was 90 degrees with a 20+mph SW wind.... tomorrows forecast is the same.

I know how that goes we are about to start fire season around here too. last year I was camped in the wilderness when a dry lightning storm came through and started one on the ridge about half a mile above us we had to break camp at dusk and pack our animals and ride 4 miles out in the dark.

uncontrolled wildfires suck more...

you need all the important papers out of the house; title, deed, insurance certificates, birth certificates, drug prescriptions, wife's wedding album and pic's of the kids... all the cash... and a couple days change of clothes...

Dang Mike hope they get that beast contained soon. I'm sure you have an evac and what to take plan in placen so be carefull and keep an eye on that.
