The v-10 is a good motor, it should get around 12mpg empty with a light foot and 8-10mpg loaded. As far as power a stock v-10 will run a circle around a stock 7.3 until your pulling then the v-10 just dosent have the torque of a diesel. The gassers are cheaper to maintain but they dont last as long as a diesel will.

That looks like a really clean truck.

POWERFULL is a Big Word. Low End Torque is another.

Overall "Grunt" power ? A PSD is the way to go.

But that truck IS.. a nice looking Rig... if you just wanted to add a 250 to yer Stable.

JMO ?

V10 ??

Not all true, i have seen more then a few v10's outlast 300k and even 400k with minimal repairs, maintenence is the key to any truck, car, suv, etc. You take care of it and it will last indefinently.

v10's are ok.I got 17 mpg highway on my 4wd excursion. averaged about 13. Towing it went down hill. I liked it. I like the diesels better. I wont shy away from a v10,

I've heard of some issues concerning blowing spark plugs out on the v-8 & v-10. Seems the threads in the head are stripping out. There are helicoil kits out there specific for that repair and spark plugs with a deeper thread reach.

Nice looking truck. I would take it. But, I have allergic reactions to spark plugs :D. So, a six cylinder oil burning replacement engine would be in order.:lmao

That looks like a clean truck - The 6.8 is a good motor and is fast, but Big Joe is right they don't have the low end snot like a powerstroke does... and they are a pig on fuel especially when towing, probably get around 8mpg.
