Whats an alternative 18" tire for the 2005 F350?

I have a friend that has a 2005 F350 4x4 with the LT275/70R18 Continental tires. He has 21,000 miles and all 4 tires are at the wear indicators. Another guy he works with has about the same truck and he barely has 20,000 miles on his also and the tires are completely worn out. After doing some checking around, the only options in that size are the Continentals. He really doesn't want to put them back on due to their softness, but yet they didn't have very good traction. What is another option for this truck? He needs a 10 ply/Load Range E all terrain type tire due to the type of work he does. Any help is greatly appreciated.

f100 if you find another tire that will work please post it, I haven't been able to find one.

There is a recall out on the Continentials for tread wear issues you may want to have your friends look into it.

Just had mine replaced.

Life sucks if your an 18" wheel owner and you want a Load E with an all terrain tread. I have been looking and reading every makers site since last week when I had one of my tires blow out.

If you can use a "high" D rated tire - then BF Goodrich makes one to fit. ProComp makes one - but it's a tad large and may rub.

Goodyear Wrangler ATS is a load E that is suppose to be an AT tire - but I've had to put it in 4x on wet grass

Life sucks = not enough money to buy new rims cause the wife won't let me.

Hey all! I've been looking to replace my Conti's as well. I read an article that Kumho had two new 18 inch tires that would work on our truck, that just came out. I believe they are the Road Venture AT and MT but I do not remember the exact designation. They can be found on the Kumho web site though. The only problem is I've yet to find someone that carries these new tire so I do not know what their prices are. I know I will keep checking. I have to get rid of those Conti's as soon as I get back from Afghanistan. Hopefully the wife won't notice when I do. I want the 35's.

I looked at those also - no load E range. I went with a high D range tire - but the Kumbo's are rated around 2695 from what I remember from last week.

The Kumho site does not list the weight ratings just the load rating. You may have a point on the weight I know that jgarza250 just installed some on his truck though. The sizes are just right for our trucks and the tread patterns look like they would perform fairly decently. The cost is also an unknown. Anyone know any more info on these tires?
