Bout time for some tires on the dually, im lookin for some all terrains, with descent tread, dut not over kill, that will last for a while, but at he same time not break the bank.

Next question: What size tires can i go to on the dually without makin special mods.?
also i heard that you can get a wider tire to fit on the front (to get rid of the pizza cutter tire effect in the front), whille keepin the same width in the back for spacing?

I know it's alot and im bein picky, but any help would be appriciated

Thanks
Neal

i am thinking of going with a super single on the fronts while keeping the duallys in rear. have to be carefull in 4x4 as tires must have close hieght dimension. check actual tire spec.s for ht. in inches or #revolutions/mile.
dont cheat more than 1/2" on width of rim req'd by a specific tire. tallest AT tire woud be a 255/85/16. only a few out there.

Rear:
255/85R16 on the rear = 33.1x10

Front:
285/75R16 = 32.8x11.2
295/75R16 = 33.4x11.6 - Closest option(run a little low on pressure to get 33.1)
305/70R16 = 32.8x12

The 255 size has limited tread designs but it is about the only tall/narrow tire out there for 16" wheels.

Toyo makes a M-55 in the LT255/85R16 that is 33.3x10.4(rear)and a LT285/75R16(front)that is 33.2x11.3.

Depends on which tires you have.

235/85/16 = 31.7x9.3

265/75/16 = 31.6x10.4

They are both within .1" on the height but the 265 is just over an inch wider. I am guessing you have 265/75-16's but some came with 235's. I think the F350 may have the 265's and the F250's the 235 but I am not sure. I also think that in 2005 they went to 18" wheels but didn't some of the 04' models have larger wheels?

your right, ive got the 265/16's there was an option for 17 & even 18's
for 2004 ModYr

Im not 'zactly sure on the 05s bigger brakes (by 1/2inch) on the
front meant they had to go to a larger wheel...but i cant remember
if the minimum wheel size was 17 or 18 (16s dont fit because
fo the additional caliper/rotor clearance required in 05)

thanks for your help.

It will raise your gearing a little.

It will throw the speedo off a little but it can be recalibrated.

May lower MPG a little as the larger tires are harder to turn. The higher gearing may help the mpg a little but normally the extra power it takes to turn the bigger tires drops it more than the higher gearing increases it.

Brakes won't work quite as good but you may not even notice the difference. Takes more brake to stop a bigger tire.
