What is this? I was under the hood and had the key on and it was ticking constantly and would not stop. it looks like theres 2 lines running from it...one to the wastegate and the other to the intake. what does this do and what does the ticking mean?

and if it is constantly making a clicking sound, does that mean it is malfunctioning? that just seems odd that it would be making a noise like that on a constant basis. what would happen if i disconnect it?

That's part of..... yer MAP (Manifold Atmospheric Pressure) sensor set-up JR.

The Green line bleeds off pressure from the Red line untill the Map sensor starts to detect near Max factory set boost pressure, sensed by the MAP sensor..... then the PCM. The PCM then sends voltage (wires/plug) to that valve... closing the Green line off and re-directing pressure to the Red line, up to the Waste-gate Actuator... to start dumping boost pressure

The clicking means it's working (sensing)

VERY Simply Put.

Don't disconnect it. The PCM will detect it... all kinds of Whizo PCM crap can~will happen. Thats what a Boost Fooler is all about.. It Fools the MAP sensor into never seeing beyond Ford/IH limits.

Jourdan, that my friend is your flux capacitor. if its not chirping, its just a matter of time before the whole thing goes kerblewie and you inductor plate will overheat throwing off the constrictor ring damper causing your injector feedback circuit to get all confused and give your truck a bad case of kaddy-wonpus. got it? :wink

listen to your elders....

Don't let him scare you Jourdan. With a stock turbo and injectors, you'll never get the 1.21 gigawatts needed to fire up that flux capacitor anyhow.:tounge:tounge

Don't know if mine makes any noise, but at idle once.. I had my hand on it, it felt as though it was cycling (for lack of a better word).

Simply disconnecting it wouldn't have an immediate result.. but shortly, yer PCM would do stuff like set over-Boost Codes, go into de-fuel mode, CEL light comes on... stuff like that.

YIKEESSSSSSSSS. I'll be leaving that bad boy alone! Its working I guess so if I ever hear the cycling stop I'll start worrying.

Thanks!
