all of a sudden my ex will not run properly when engine is cold. if i crank it up in the morning and don't let it warm completely up, it will run for 50 yards or so and lose power and the rpm's will drop to idle. the engine will have a very ruff sound and shake somewhat violently. if i stop and sit for a couple minutes it will run fine. sometimes when the power is lost it will shut off and then takes awhile to restart...:dunno :dunno

Hi Chris
I had the very similar condition last winter ( Georgia winter is about our summer climate ). Then my problem was too low oil level. The engine could not create enough pressure to stay running when cold.
Oil change ( semi synt. 10-30 ) helped.
Diesel filter change another thing.

Just some comments from cold north
