i need some real world feedback from people who have run the U4.1 oxygenated race gas from VP.

im pretty much sold on it, except i hear its shelf life is about 2 days after you pour it in  , wich would mean after every weekend i'd be draining the tanks on 3 quads.

i heard from one person who runs it, that before he parks his bike he puts in some 2 stroke oil  . i dont see how this keeps it from turning :dunno , but he claims it does. another person says he puts in winterizer when he parks his, but im not sure i want to deal with that.

any experience with any other oxygenated race fuels from vp is welcome as well.:stir

you know......i bet in very small doses it probably would give a diesel a good kick. too much and you can kiss those pistons goodbye!

it's got a short tank life because it's intended to be consumed very quickly after being dispensed and has very little in the way of anti-microbial additives

any fuel will stale if you let it sit long enough.. the light "ends" evaporate away very quickly leaving you quite a different chemical compound...

everything I have that's seasonal use with a gasoline engine, I run very nearly empty and then give it a splash of 20:1... no more than a few ounces.. just enough to wet the fuel lines and carb bowl... in the spring, I fill it with clean, fresh fuel, fire it up and do my thing...

hmm.....2 stroke oil.....

well im going to try it i think. we have some serious plans for the quads this winter, juicing the crap out of the engines being one of them.

we have been running vp red, and i realized that per 5 gallons, the u4.1 is only $15 more at $56.

the common choice at the track is c12 wich is about $50.....but its not oxygenated, and its really too high of an octane rating for these high revving engines. the dyno proves that runninig too high of an octane drastically hurts the numbers.

oh well...trial and error i guess.
