Hey guys, was just wondering if the valve cover gaskets are reusable on 99-03 powerstrokes? I gotta do glow plugs soon and was curious cause i saw the price on em, lol...didnt wanna buy them if not needed.

Yes they are reusable, the price is because of the wiring harness that is intergrated in them. While you're there make sure all your connections at the valvecover gasket are good and tight. Just a quick tip on the glowplugs:

Once you break the plugs loose with the 10mm deep socket and they spin by hand, attach a peice of 1/8" vacuum hose over the tip to spin them out. If you try to use the socket it will bind on the rocker before you can get the glow plug out.

HOW CAN YO TELL WHEN THEY GO BAD?

i'm just goin by how long the old wait to start light hangs on...damn thing seems like forever, and i know the first owner of my truck never did em, and think i've prob been lucky goin 90k with em, i drove my buddies the other day and his were 30 or 40k old, but damn, was almost like driving a duramax, almost no wait at all, lol...i'm sure there is some tell tale signs, besides hard starting, prob would blow white smoke since whichever cylinder it went bad on would be PISSED, lol...and the noise it'd make starting with no heat in that cylinder. Once mine has been plugged in for couple hours then they act like they used to, only need 4/5 seconds then fire up.
