Upfitter Switches??

I have an '02 PSD. When I am on this site, I keep hearing people talk about "Upfitter Switches." What in the heck are upfitter switches? Are they one of the really neat things Ford did to the interiors of the new 6.0 trucks?

I think they are on the 05 & 06 SuperDuty trucks. RRay posted how to put them on the trucks that came from factory without them
