First off let me just say this site is awesome! I've found so much great information here and my must do list has gotten quite long. :) Anyhow, I have decided to do a homemade Tymar style intake using the 6637 filter from NAPA like several of you have done. My question is what did you do with the sensor inside the air box, (I believe it is the MAF sensor)? Thanks and I'm sure I'll have more questions as I work on my list.

If my thinking is straight at this time of night, that is the IAT (intake air temp)sensor. Just zip tie it to the inner fender well.

IAT sensor I just put mine as close to the air filter as possible it should see that same temp I would think . I have had no problems with mine.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll be taking out the stock filter and putting in the new one here shortly.

I used a 3.5" length of 4" steel tubing to go between the filter and stock intake tube.

CHPMustang,
I think I like that idea better than the 3" ABS coupler I am currently using. I seem to remember a picture of your cold air intake mod and you used some aluminum foil looking material around the opening. It looks like it must have adhesive on one side. What is that material? It gave me an idea for when I do the cold air intake mod on mine to kind of seal things off a little better.

I used 2" aluminum duct tape which works great for smoothening the intake opening airflow and adhere's very well :sweet
