what year if any did ford put a veri vane turbo on the 7.3?

They did NOT use the varible vane turbo on any 7.3 diesel. Only the 6.0 diesel. You can't use it on a 7.3 because the ECM won't be programmed for it. You would be looking at big $$$ to get someone to program an ECM for you and this setup.
