Hello all and hope everyone had a great Holiday.

Quick question about a Turbo (seal or gasket?) Started leaking oil in the driveway a year or so ago, took it to Ford and they said it would be $2000 dollars or so to fix. Took it to another mechanic and he fixed it for $200. :) I was told that I had blown the gasket around the Turbo unit. I have apparently blown another one as I have the leak again in the same place.
Is there something I am doing to build up too much pressure or something?

Someone had mentioned maybe I was building up too much "backpressure"

Truck is all stock, F250, 7.3L 02, 140K Miles.

Thanks in advance for any input you may have.

There are o-rings between the pedistal and the block and between the pedistal and the turbo's center section. They sometimes leak. Also the EBP valve's actuator rod's seal tends to leak, mine was and I just eliminated the EBPV when I changed my exhaust housing.

The only way too much backpressure would cause a leak would be if the thrust bearing was out and leaking oil out of the exhaust housing into the downpipe.

That article should help you see where the o-rings are and maybe diagnose your leak yourself a little better.
