Black Cloud Diesel offers this. What do you guys think? HP or MPG increase? I have a AFE stage 2 with a smooth turbo intake tube. Is the TAG necessary? There are two of them, which one or both?

The answer to that would be a resounding NO. The truck has been running without it right?

Now, does the TAG work wonders, make you taller, better looking, improve your financial status, make you better in bed and help you bring home the Nobel Peace Prize? Buy one, install it and let us know. There are wildly differing opinions on the TAG.

btw........... that is just a little humorous sarcasm, no harm intended.:sweet

I'll confess, I tried the TAG's and got undeterminable results. I spent many years in the Air Force working around jet engines and have a rudimentary understanding of how they work. So the concept of how the TAG's are supposed to function/help made a certain amount of logic to me. After all, a turbo in many ways is very similar to a jet engine.

Did the TAG's help? I dunno:dunno My butt-ometer isn't calibrated to detect power changes that small. If any change/improvement was seen, it may have been a slight increase in MPG.

For the money spent, much better improvement was seen from my DP-Tuner 80hp Econo tune, reflashed PCM than what I saw from the TAG's.

Well.. I have both. Up Front: they are not WHIZ-BANG/WHEELIE BAR Mods.

Empty ? I can't tell much difference. Towing ? You Betcha. When yer moving/needing alot of intake air they make a difference.. in turbo/engine responce, on demand. I took them off once, on an OTR trip.. Put them back in at the next fuel stop. My 2K tows better with'm.

Just a littl FYI,

They look just like the insert in a '04 GTO that's right before the MAF sensor. You can see it when changing the air filter on these cars.

I think they would help but seem a little pricey for me.
