Ok hit a bump tonight driving through town and this thing started shimmying like crazy. to make things worse a cop was following me and I'm sure he was wondering what the hell ws going on I slammed on the binders but it did not stop till I was at about 5 mph. Now I have done the welded TTB frontend and have not had any problems except the rough ride. toe in is adjused at 1/16" any ideas? :dunno

The dreaded death wobble.Like mentioned ,time for a D60.I think its a combination of a lot of front end parts going bad.

are you describing a somewhat violent shaking of the front after hitting a substantial bump? I had the same behavior, my shift lever was swinging from side to side and the wheel was rocking back and forth. Took it to a shop and they couldnt believe it when they duplicated it. I had all 4 shocks replaced and it has never done it again.

Had a chevy that did that too, idler arm was shot and it scared the holy snikees out of me the first time it did it. I have heard of quite a few even with a dana 60 having the death wobble, worn out tie rods/shocks/ball joints and bigger tires will do it for sure.

Everything seems to be tight in my front end but I don't know guess it could still be the problem.

Anyone ever find out what a dealership would say about trading an F250 in with the welded front end? If they even see it I guess.
