I have a 2001 F-250 Super Duty 7.3 4X4 automatic, and recently I had to replace the ball joints on the driver side. Since replacing the ball joints, after driving the truck for a while when I apply the brakes It pulls very hard to the right. I Looked at the calliper but it doesn't appear to be sticking and also when I let off the brakes it doesn't pull at all. Any clues asto what this could be? Thanks!

I have heard of instances when the caliper is unmounted for ball joints etc, and the weight of the caliper is allowed to hang from the hose, it can damage the brake hose causing a spongy brake on that side and a pull in the other direction. But it sounds like your pull is towards the side worked on. Was the brake on the other side touched or unmounted for any reason?

Im betting the caliper pins are at issue...that or the pads (mine have
some small "wire" springs) are not "returning".

I recently sunk my truck to the axles in clay...there was so much
caked MUD (even after i sprayed what i could see) around the caliper
and rotor that it was binding the caliper WHEN I APPLIED the BRAKES (only)

when i pulled the wheel i discovered the CAKED DRIED CLAY around
the caliper pins...I removed disconnected the caliper, caliper hanger &
the rotor...cleaned everything up nicely & its fine now.

your caliper pins could be pitted and scored...they need some
anti seize (or something) on the pins after youve cleaned 'em up
(steel wool or scotch-brite pad).

First off check your caliper bolts/pins. If there is no issue with the calipers you could have some other front end parts wore out.

had this issue too....seemed to be the way the caliper went on.....i thought it went on right all bolts went in fine but upon closer inspection it was a bit cocked and cost me a new set of break pads and a passenger side rotor
