So here's the deal guys.

I'm kinda concerned with my tranny temps. the highest ive seen them since ive had it was 190. that was in stop and go traffic last summer when it was about 100 outside. today it got up to 160 and its only 75 degrees outside. is this something to worry about?

i'm completely stock as far as my tranny goes. stock cooler too.

so, i guess my question is:

Should i upgrade my stock tranny cooler?
i hardly ever tow or haul anything but may be getting a pontoon boat soon.

should i also add a tranny filter? will that help with my tranny temps?
does my tranny have a external or internal stock filter?

Anything above 200/210, for any length of time is where you wana start paying attention. 230 MAX.

It's purdy much agreed (on SDD) Clint.. if you do any towing.. of any wieght at all.. additional trans cooling, and up-graded filtration.. is a Must.

My .03 ??

You want to keep your tranny temps below the outside temp + 100° F, in general. Anything higher will cause tranny problems.

you havent gotten to anything dangerous...

if you upgrade...do it right...go with the 6.0 tranny cooler.

I got one installed in mine, and it lowered my temps 30-40*

and yes, i would recommend a magnefine filter...can get one from napa for around 20 bucks...ill be adding when i one when i change my fluid in a few months. It installs in the return line.
