Tranny Problems

Last night, coming home from work, I had to open 'er up to get around some idiot with a death grip on the steering wheel (i.e., driving scared). We weren't going fast since it was rush hour, but afterwards the truck would not shift into 3rd. 2nd was it!
When I got home, I took the Edge programming out of it and took it back to stock. Initially,it would not go into reverse. Drove it around and it seemed fine.
This morning I put the Edge programming back in and test drove it, and it drives fine, now.
Any ideas? Suggestions? I RARELY drive it WOT. I'm still waiting for more mods before going there.
I would love to get a BTS tranny, but the budget won't allow it at this time. I'm wondering if I just need a good flush, or what?

How many miles you have on the odo now John?

I'd change the fluid/filter(also to observe any metal chunkage in the pan) and do the Sonnax/Tricumulator for starts

I'm at about 135k. It does need change. How many quarts does it hold? I'm not sure my pan is big enough. It barely holds an earl change!

We just changed the fluid in our transmission and if I recall I added 8 quarts as the TQ didn't have a drain plug

8 in the pan, another 10 in the TC and lines.

Gonna have to buy a lot of fluid! Suggestions?

Will I need a pump to get out the fluid in the TC and lines?

I bought generic stuff. If I had a fresh rebuild, I'd go syn.

I had a clean filter put in when we did my sonnax, and I flushed it a month later and didn't change it again.
