hey everyone. im new to the site and im hoping someone can help me out. I have a 2001 f350 with the 7.3 L. I have the edge programmer, 5 in turbo back exhaust, and a K&N intake. My question is regarding the trans in the truck. when should i start worrying about the tranny giving out due to too much power? also, how bout the injectors. if someone could help, id really appreciate it. thanks! :thumbs

Your tranny will be fine if all you are doing is using a tuner such as the edge. I would highly recommend a tranny temp guage if you dont already have one. Keep your tranny 200 deg or less and do regularly scheduled fluid changes and you should be fine. However, are you the original owner and do you know the tranny's history, re; did the PO cook the crap out of it at any time?

What exactly about your injectors do you want to know? Your edge programmer wont hurt them at all if thats the question.

Welcome to the site!

yea, the tranny will be fine if that's all you have, When you add I performance injectors and other major mods in when you have to start watching yourself. Swamps Diesel Performance is a good place to get injectors, they'll build you anything from one step above stock as huge as you want!!! 1866-595-8724 and they specialize in fords

My tranny puked Stock with just 78000 miles. Now I have a BTS tranny

Just my little bit

Mine puked at 60+K because of the diode that the original poster might have. So, don't do anything till it pukes or change it over to a BTS. Do a Valve body if you want it to shift better but don't do a TC.

I also have a 2001. I had 119,000 on mine when I took it to BTS last month to get a real tranny. I lost the snap ring and the coasting clutch was gone. Brian said I was lucky I was able to drive it in.

Check your fluid often and make sure you don not overheat it.
