We had 2 of them go out one at 130,000 km and one at 67,000km now im worried i got 79,000km on mine. So i was talking to ford and they said they got a new service bulletion that if there is severe duty then you have to fully service them every 50,000 km and 100,000km if your highway driving. There definition of severe service is towing over 10,000 pound or back road driving. I thought with having 2 filters it would last longer between sevices. like the 4 eod that my dad had never had a service for its 200,000km life then the front seal blew out and lost all the oil. are they poor trannys or how do you explain that? just my view i just changed the external filter and the oil is bad bad with some black crap looks like clutch miteral. So im going to do the service and hope it lasts.

ive heard nothing but good about the tourqe shifts. but dont have one although i was told if my tranny is to go look around for a rebuilt torque shift and with some mod itll fit in....

On my 04 I had the tranny replaced @11,000KMS. I started giving trouble @7000kms.

40000 miles on mine...not a single problem.
there was an issue early on w/ reverse planetary gear
pins that backed out (no retaining clip)...they were
fixed (regardless of warrenty)

Put a SunCoast kit in and forget about it.

i have 125,000 on mine with no trouble at all. still going strong.
