A tornado formed just south of our place tonite and set down about a mile away at a freinds place. Luckly for them they saw it coming and got into the basment. When they crawled out they had nothing left. Just before that one hit another one hit about 6 miles SW of here. That place was leveled too. We have had machine shop work done there before so know that family too. I'm just glad everybody is safe. My son is out working on the rural electric power lines right now as there are many places with no electricity after all these storms moved through. We got a video of the twister starting but haven't looked at it yet since we were helping my buddy pick his place up.

We get em over here, too, some years a lot.
I saw the warnings on the radar last night, it's a bad deal when that kind of damage is done. :(
We got 2.7" of much-needed rain overnight so far, and it hasn't quit yet :sweet
Have to start cutting grass again soon :D
Be sure to post up your video, f100. -popcorn

F100, glad you all are okay, and I hope your son is very careful in his work. I know the damage caused by a tornado firsthand. Our house was destroyed by one in 1994. It was picked up, blown apart, and deposited in our neighbor's lawn across the street. All that was left on the actual site of the house were some of the blocks of the foundation (it was a manufactured home). Interestingly enough, our home was the only one in our neighborhood that was blown off it's site and the only one that did not have someone inside it at the time (kids were on their way home from school, wife and I were at work). Oddly enough, during the summer before the storm (the storm happened in October), we were complaining about our high electric bills. The home that replaced the original one was bigger, heaver, better insulated, with a cheaper electric bill. All the other homes in our neighborhood had moderate to severe damage (a couple were eventually replaced), and they all had at least one person inside when the storm hit. Talk about a miracle for the neighborhood. And yes, we have watched the movie "Twister" several times.
