Looking for some input on tires. I currently have the factory 20x8.5" factory wheels and I went from the 275/65 OEM's to a 35x12.50 ProComp Xtreme AT. First off let me say I love the procomps. VERY VERY Quiet, lots of meat. HOWEVER. At $5/gal I need to start looking for every mpg. I'm pretty sure I lost about 3 mpg's (hwy) when I switched. I'm looking for a tire inbetween the factory 275's and my 35x12.50's. I want to stay E rated also. So I've been doing research and narrowed it down to BFG AT's in a 285/65, or a set of GoodYear Wrangler Silent armor 305/60's. The Goodyear's actually weigh 1 pound less than the BFG's according to the specs I've found. I guess my question is, which tire do you guys think would yield better MPG's. I also like the looks of the BFG better, but looks don't mean poo. I want a slightly larger than OEM A/T tire that's not going to kill MPG's.

Well common sense would say that the goodyear is less weight, which means less rolling resistance, which would mean less power needed to get it rolling, which would finally mean better mileage.

I have the BFG's and love them, but I do think its a heavy tire and with diesel the way it is, I dont know if I'll go with it again or not.

Have you given the regular procomp all terrains a thought? I think they are xl rated and come in either 275 55r20/60r20. The ones ive got are pretty quiet and I think they look good too.

Yeah the way diesel prices are... my 35x12.50's are killing me. Like I said, awsome tires, but $5/gal makes ya rethink some stuff. Either one, the GY or the BFG would be an improvement (MPG wise) over the Monster 35's I'm running which weigh 71 pounds each!! I'll keep taking opinions and researching it for a while b/c I have to sell my 35's at a decent price to make it finanically worth it.

I really like the TKO's aesthetics it's just they were a biotch to keep balanced over 20k miles so I went with Michelins since the Silent Armors were out of stock at the time(July 2006)
