Those Little PIA

metal Clip Thingys that hold our Headlight assemblies in, has anyone figered out how to remove'm ?? I just replaced my APC Projector type Headlights (they got dirty & hazey on the Inside of the lenz) with a pair of Crystal Clear's (they sure look good), but what a PIA getn those clips off. Theres gota be a better way than with a pair of needle nose Vise Grips.

I gotm off, and back on but kinda murdered'm doing it.

Any help . For in the future

i used a smal lflat screwdriver and needle nose pliers.

I ripped mine out. dont need them anymore after putting in '05 HL's

but you are right Joe, they were a pain to deal with.

You guys are sure right. What a PIA. Prolly one of those deals where you need FOMOCO Specialty Tool # FPBA-XX/UU-******X/2-B7 for $226.57.

Guess the Needle Nose Vise Grips are the ticket.

GOOD 90 degree circlip pliers work great! Had my clips off in less than 5 minutes when I installed my clear Visteons. The cheap pliers that have interchangeable tips won't work.

14mm socket, or there abouts. push it over the prongs to collapse them.

Thanks Antonio, Makes a good reason to go out and get a Better pair than the ones I have (cheap ones).

I did the 14/13mm socket deal, made it easier but those clips were tough.

I used a 13mm on the lower push through PITA's. On the passenger side it fell off and under the washer fluid bottle....that took forever to fish out.
