A little less than 30 years ago, about the time Mrs TG and I got married, Mrs TG's younger sister found herself too young and too pregnant. She made the heartbreaking decision to give her son up for adoption.

Many years later, after a first failed marriage, she married the baby's father and later had another son and a daughter. Both kids are 100% blood siblings to the boy given up for adoption years before.

Over the many, many years that have passed since, all of us have wondered what had become of our long lost son/brother/nephew/cousin. My wife's sister a while back registered on the TLC networks show Adoption Stories in an attempt to find out whatever had become of her long lost son.

Recently she was contacted by the show's producers. They arranged to come interview & film her and her family in their Door county WI home. They spent the day on Wed filming and interviewing the family, then taking them all out for a nice dinner. After dinner was over, the TLC crew announced that my sister-in-law's long lost son has been found. Apparently the TLC crew had already met with him.

As it turns out, he had been seeking his birth mother too. Sadly, he had recently lost his adoptive mother when she passed away. So he evidently was looking to fill a missing piece of his life.

He is living in Mt Joliet, IL, a teacher, is married and has a baby on the way. So in one evening, my wife's sister not only found out where her son is, but found out she has a daughter-in-law, and will soon be a grandmother. The TLC crew was astounded with the likeness of the younger son and his newly found older brother.

They are driving down to the Chicago area today to meet him and his family.
The episode is supposed to air on TLC's Adoption Stories sometime in the next month or two.

I can hardly wait to meet my long lost nephew. Out of all my nieces & nephews, I have always felt the closest to his brother & sister. So I am even more excited by these new developments.
