Just starting to get chilly here in Wisconsin,:snow And the other night I was heading to town to take the bride out for our Friday night Fish Fry.
It was like 18 dregs. out and the truck hadn't been running since the A.M. when I got home from work. It fired right up and as I was leaving the drive way I stepped on the gas peddle and it didn't do anything just kept idling fast enough to move but not fast enough to get up to speed. Erry feeling when you live on a major highway. but after a few seconds that felt like 20 minutes it took off like it suppose to and got up to speed.
Then a few days later when I left the drive way it took off OK but about an 1/8 of a mile down the road it all of a sudden picked up 500 RPM's with out me doing anything..

Anyone have any Idea's what could be causing this ???? :dunno

ShaZam :thanks

I'd suggest making sure your fuel system is ready for winter:

1- The fuel filter is new or recently new.
2- Any water has been drained from the filter housing.
3- You are burning a winter blend of fuel with anti-icing additives. If not get some anti-gelling additives to add to your fuel.

This may or not be the problem, but it's not beyond the scope of possibilty.

it's the Exhaust Back Pressure Valve trying to warm the engine... the same thing that makes the jet-engine noise if you let it sit there and idle...

gotta watch driving these things cold, man... for one, there is no direct connection to the throttle to an injector pump like there is in a Dodge... these things are drive by wire.

when the oil pressure has come up, it's hittin' on all 8, the glow plugs have shut off, it's quit makin' smoke, and it responds to the throttle, drive it.
