guys i replaced my fuel filter the other day and noticed that it was leaking around the cap. i just pulled the cap off today and put it back on to get a better seal, and the second i turned the key on, fuel squirted out of the area right between the cap and the filler bowl. i cant get it to stop now matter how hard i tighten it with my hand. i hvae never had to use a strap wrench before. should i try this or is the o ring bad or what?

You have a bad oring..............go find the old oring you took out or one out of a new kit and put it on to see if it will stop the leak.

I have experienced this problem more often with off brand filter kits.

Prolly slim to none on finding JUST the O ring. Hastings & Wixs sell a filter that comes with a new cap & O ring. Not a bad idea to carry a spare filter... you can keep it right next to your spare CPS;)

Joe

Do you have a good shop near by that can >make< O rings ? (just an after thought)
