Recently, the speedometer/odometer and overdrive of my 1996 F250 4x4 stopped working (truck has an E4OD transmission). I replaced the VSS sensor on the differential, but this hasn't fixed the problem. I also checked all of the fuses in the dash and under the hood and all appear to be fine. Does anyone have any idea what else could cause this problem? The transmission was recently rebuilt (less than 11k miles) and the torque converter was replaced at that time. I also scanned the computer with an OBD II scanner, but it didn't turn up any codes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check the fuse for the dome/coutesy lights as it also powers the speedo. I had my speedo quit when one of the rear door wiring harnesses shorted and blew the fuse. Also, you may want to check the wiring for the VSS. It's easy enough to check the continuity from the RABS module (behind the glovebox) to the VSS. Cheers!

Thanks for the info. Do you happen to know the location of the fuse for the dome light/speedometer circuit? I checked the fuse box in the dash and the one under the hood. Is this fuse located somewhere else?
