I am at 90,500 miles with the OEM warranty over. I need to do a trans service flush and fill.

I am considering doing either the Sonnax valve body upgrade or splurging on something like a BTS or Greg Evans Valve body upgrade. I would rather have the tranny open once to do this all. I plan on putting a chip/gauges and exhaust on this eventually, propably before Fall. Towing demands are light at this time. I have already started setting aside rainy day trans fund money. If i never need it, thats more money in the bank.

Reading the marketing material- at:Factory Tech Transmissions makes sense on what the benefits are.

How will either valve body upgrade affect, or be affected by a chip and its programing?

Any recommendations on either setup?

Dennis

dpantazis, my first mods were right in-line with what you plan for your truck, gauges, chip, full exhaust from turbo back, open air filter, and a ftvb....all put on @ once @ 120,000 miles....wow !increased performance!! Wow, stock tranny was toast in less than three weeks.....the ftvb did help in the shifts no doubt, but was a weak bandaid for the added power.....so forked out for the monsterbox and stage one injectors....over 18 months ago and have had a case of perma-grin ever since!!:burnit :burnit , so be prepared, with the chip and exhaust, yours may last for quite sometime, but your gonna strain your tranny like never before.....The valve body is gonna help no doubt, but ain't gonna make it built proof.....Greg Evans recommends that you do not get programming in the chip that has line pressures increases built in, which 100% of the programmers and the generic chips out there do....That's why it is better to get custom programming from the guys who don't sell one size fits all. Tony Wildman and Jody Tipton are the best....look in my sig. to see which one I prefer.....

I have the sc1705 and the sonnex/tricumulator..not to hard on tranny but you can now feel the shift...for some reason you can feel the shift more then others, guess its when the converter and the shift hit about same time then you really feel it...
