About 10 years ago (I HATE to paint) we had our Home wrapped with Tyvec and sided with vinyl sideing (I HATE to paint), boxed in the eves the whole bit. They used PVC coated aluminum on the trim around the windows, eves, and doors. (I HATE to paint.;)) they did a GREAT JOB.

But lately, I had noticed that the Aluminum trim color (green) was starting to fade and chip off where the sun had beat on it for 10 years. The whole 9 yards was supposed to be GARONTEED for LIFE. My thinking was: YA, RIGHT.. GOOD LUCK.

I called the contractor last Thursday. He called me back on Friday, This morning..... 2 guyz showed up at 7:30.... (from Sacramento, 200 miles away)they completly REPLACED >ALL< the aluminum trim.... on the WHOLE HOUSE.. whether it needed it or not.. and re-caulked it and every seem that was caulked :eek: :sweet :thumbs

At not 1 cent to me. (Well.. 2 cups of AM coffee & 2 big PM glasses of Tea)

The contractor called about noon to see how things were going. Told me the CenCal Sun will cause this to happen... so call him in another 10 years and he'll do it again.

I'm still in shock.

A Company actually Stood Behind thier product.. With No Hassle.

:cool: :) :D :)

AND someone called to follow up !?!

Yes.. But Wait, Theres More:

The contractor called again this morning, wanted to know if everything was done properly and to my satisfaction. He also asked about his employees.. Did they involve me in any questionable issues (they added some insulation around the window frames), did they "Nip" all corners that someone might catch themselves on, did they clean-up after themselves ? That kinda thing..

It was a big "YES", to all the above.

I'm not one to advertize or recommend things but if anyone in Caly is reading this and is concidering some Home Improvement stuff.. PM me and i'll give you thier 1-800 number.

In a couple days, after I collect myself, I'm guna write a good letter to the Home Office in Chico.

In a word, this whole thing has been:"REFRESHING".. To say the Least.

Wow,, Big Joe;

Chico is only about an hours drive away from here. If we did not have all natural wood as an exterior, I would think about changing. We bought our house new in 1974 and have only had it repainted once two years ago. I know what you mean about not liking to paint. We had a wood fence around the two acres here, and it had to be repainted every couple of years. I had all the fence removed and replaced with chain link. That ended the maintenance issues. We planted bushes and trees around the fence, so you can not see the fence very easily.
Your contractor is one in a million. If only our Ford dealers were so honest and friendly. I checked into trading up to a new 08 PSD, and our local Ford dealer, whom I purchased our 06 from, said check out what is low blue book and take off another $3,500 and that is what they would give us on our truck. That sucks. The only way I would buy a 08 from them is when I got there very lowest price, and then if they lowered that price by $3,500.
So bottom line, I will keep our 06 and enjoy it.
