i hope i dont take any shots for needing some help with a rice burnin' mini-van, but here it goes.

its a 2003, and the problem is with the driver's side rear power sliding door.

when it is closing on its own, it has gotten weaker at the closing point, and will not close all the way, and it makes a buzzer go off inside the van.

are there any previous or current owners who have an Odyssey that has encountered this same problem?

is there an adjustment that i can do myself to make it close all the way and stay?

thanks for any help that can be given.

didja' try lubing the tracks and seals?

that's a good start, thanks JL, i'll try that out tomorrow. we just bought this van about a month ago, so i know there will be some things that will come up that i will have to address one at a time.

would a white lube do the job???? from what i can remember on the 2000 Windstar we had, that had power slide doors, there was a white lube on the tracks.

I was told a silicone spray worked for the job (tire shine should do it too)

well, i was takin a look at it all today. the door is pulled by a wire that is attached to a motor i presume. i havent slicked up the tracks yet, but i am wondering if maybe the motor that pulls it shut is goin out, since that is the main way that it closes up.

Sounds like the motor needs some help in the way of cleaned and lubed tracks. Don't burn out the motor.

I'm thinking it's on a push-pull cable sytem, rather than a simple pull closed... does it open smoothly?

it does pull and push very good, except when it gets right at the closing point.

it acts like it just aint got enuff of umph to get the job done. it only started doin this about 3 days ago.
